Movie Night Games and Ice Breakers

Okay, I’m still talking Movie Night here on the blog. One thing about movie night is that you have got to make it fun.! Right?

Movie Prop Scavenger Hunt Game

Today I’m sharing a couple scavenger hunt games for Movie Night (or day). These will include some movie props to find.

Movie Night Scavenger Hunts

I’ve always enjoyed the find it or scavenger hunt games I have played at parties, so I’ll give you a few versions for Movie Night.

Movie Props Scavenger Hunt

This is a simple list of items many are likely to find around their home.

Book
Candle
Clock
Coffee cup/mug
Flower or plant (real or fake)
Hat
Laundry basket
Painting/wall art
Pair of glasses
Pair of shoes/or slippers
Phone
Picture frame
Pot/Pan
Robe
Scarf
Throw pillow
Vase

For a Movie Night/Party in your Home/Venue
Have all the items visible and/or partially visible in the room where you are holding your Movie Night. Give a printed list of items to your guests. (You can adjust it to your needs) Tell your guests to keep the list turned over until you say go. Let them know that they will be finding all the movie props on the list and to check it off when they see an item. You can have them sit or walk around, but tell them “no touching” any of the items. (This keeps your personal items safe of course) First one to call out “Cut!” when they have found all the items is the winner.

For a Facebook Post
Make a FB post with the items listed within your post. You can cut the list down and just use “some” of them. Give instructions and have everyone take photos on their phones of any of the movie props they can find around the house. Let them know to upload the photos in the comments on your post. Give them a time limit or a set time to stop uploading photos on the post (use a time zone) Be sure to write a comment yourself to say that the game is over. Tag the ones with the most photos of items with some type of acknowledgement in another post or in the comments of the same post.

Zoom Users
I’m sure you could probably adjust this somehow to play on Zoom. I’ve just never used the virtual meeting thing, so I’m not real familiar with how it would work the best. If you have any suggestions, leave a comment.

Movie Props PHOTO Scavenger Hunt

This is for a broader hunt where your guests need to go out and do a little more finding and take photos of as many of the objects as they can find with their phones. Feel free to add or take away from the list.

As an Assignment
Give the list out ahead of time and have everyone see how many items they can take photos of on their phones and bring with them at your next meet-up time. You can assign teams to work together if you want.
