Favor Container Ideas (Not just bags!)

There are so many fun types of containers other than just "bags" to use at Ladies Retreats and Women's Ministry Events. Here is a list of ideas with some things you may not of thought of.  

Some of these will fit only a few pieces of candy while others will fit in a few more goodies and even have room for handouts in some. 

What to Use For Goodie or Favor Bags:

  1. Bakery Bags

  2. Baking and Cupcake Holders

  3. Baskets (Use small size)
    • Berry Baskets 
    • Wicker, plastic, etc.

  4. Brown Paper Bags (lunch bags)
  5. CD Envelopes
    • Great for large cookies or any small items peeking through the front clear window.

  6. Canister Scoops (for Home Theme)

  7. Canvas Tote Bags (Check craft departments for small ones)

  8. Chinese Take Out Boxes

  9. Clear Cellophane Bags

  10. Clear Plastic Cups (Disposable)
    Example (on Julia's Blog)

  11. Clear Plastic Cups (Drinking - Disposable)
    • You could fill these with anything small.

  12. Clear Plastic Cups - Tumblers (Drinking - Such as coffee ones with lid or summer drink cups with straw/lid)

  13. Clipboards
    • Fancy up clipboards with scrapbook paper and ribbon.
    • Clip your handouts, a pen, and anything else you want to the clipboards.

  14. Cotton Drawstring Bags

  15. Decorative Bottles

  16. Die-Cut Boxes and Bags (such as milk carton, pillow box, etc.)

  17. Favor Bags to purchase (as found in party supply departments)

  18. File Folders
    • Sew or glue up sides and Decorate.

  19. Flower Pots

  20. Foil Pans (Disposable)
    • Small loaf size pans work well

  21. Garden Gloves (for Garden Theme)
    • Fill just one of the gloves in a pair with small items sticking out.

  22. Gift Bags
    • Keep an eye out at Target.  They clearance these periodically.

  23. Glassine Bags

  24. Ice Cream Cones (for a Summer Theme)
    • Fill with candies or small items and wrap up with cellophane.

  25. Large Pretty Envelopes

  26. Library Card Envelopes
    • You can sometimes find colored ones of these in the school supplies (teacher section) at The Dollar Tree.

  27. Mason Jars

  28. Measuring Cup (for Home Theme)

  29. Mesh Drawstring Bags

  30. Mini Strainers (for Home Theme)

  31. Mugs (Coffee or Soup type)

  32. Paper Cones
    • Rolled pretty paper or cardstock

  33. Peat Pots
    • It doesn't have to be a plant in these.  Peat Pots can be prettied up or kept rustic.

  34. Popcorn Bucket (Small size for Movie Night)

  35. Recycled Altoid Tins
    • You can also purchase these new at craft stores.

  36. Recycled Boxes
    • Use Scrapbook paper or wrapping paper to decorate.

  37. Recycled Cans

  38. Recycled Jars
    • Jelly Jars, milk shaped bottles (such as you get bottled coffees in), and small sauce jars all make good ones to recycle.
    • Don't get hung up on the idea that all of your jars have to be the same size and shape. Just decorate in same style.

  39. Rubber Gloves (for Homemaking Theme)
    • Fill just one of the gloves in a pair with small items sticking out.

  40. Sand Bucket (for Summer Theme - use small size ones)

  41. Sand Shovel (for Summer Theme)
    • Put in candy or small goodies and tie up cello and ribbon

  42. Sandwich Bags
    • Use cute toppers.

  43. School Supply Zipper Pouches
  44. Pair of Socks
    • Fill up one of the socks with small items

  45. Paper Bags and Sacks

  46. Stockings (Christmas)

  47. Sour Cream Holder
    • These are very easy to make!

  48. Tie Up Brochures and Handout Material with Doily and Baker's Twine.
  49. Tie Up Brochures and Handout Material with Ribbon.

  50. Tin Pails

  51. Winter Gloves
    • Fill up one of the gloves with small items.

Peat Pot Favor Ideas
