Vessels For The Master's Use
Women's Ministry Theme
'Vessels' is another one of those subjects for themes that everyone probably has their variation on. This one deals with being prepared to serve and being used by Christ in relation to what kind of vessel we are.
Alternative Theme Titles
- Vessels Unto Honor
- Vessels for His Use
- Prepared to Serve Christ
- Use Me Lord!
- Filled to Overflowing!
Theme Verse Suggestions
- "But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour
Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever." 2 Peter 3:18
- "...a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use,
and prepared unto every good work." 2 Timothy 2:21

Color Scheme
- Dark browns, sienna, deep plums.
General Decorations
- With this theme we are going back to Bible Times. Pretend your whole gathering area is a village set back in time.
- Gather up all the vessels and pottery you can find. Lots of Terra Cotta would work well. Look in import stores.
- Throw in a few palm trees and plants.
For The Tables
- Add some pieces of fabrics in browns or deep plums placed strategically here and there on your tables at different angles.
- Place a few of the broken pieces of pottery in the middle of your tables. Just break up an old terra cotta pot in large pieces. (Use safety precautions). You can be creative and place the pieces stacked and at angles to make it interesting.
- For centerpieces use small terra cotta pots filled with the flowers of your choice. If you want to use larger terra cotta pots, turn them sideways on the table with the flowers spilling out the side with some greenery. This will make it interesting plus help to keep your arrangements not so tall for conversation purposes.
Focal Point
- Murals - Make some murals of Bible time scenes with women carrying water jugs. Check online for children's bible coloring pages for outlines.
- Potter's House - A doorway with a small table set up in front of it. Lots of pottery, vases, dishes.
Find some stoneware things to throw in.
If you can't locate a real 'potter's wheel', just place a wooden lazy Susan on a table top with a large vase on it.
- Marketplace - Make a "Marketplace" using a small tent or canopy with some tables in front of it.
- Have lots of pottery and vases about with baskets and other props such as fabric, etc.
- Add in a few baskets of fresh fruit and some fresh herbs too.
- If your ladies have items for sale such as cookbooks or anything, this would be a great time to put them out.
- If your speaker has books or material to sell, have her a table set up in your 'marketplace' too.
