Reflections of A Lovely Lady
Women's Ministry Theme

This theme revolves around taking a deep look at ourselves and seeing how much we reflect Christ. Can be used along with a Proverbs 31 study. Makes a great Mother-Daughter Banquet Theme.

    Alternative Theme Titles
  • Beautiful for Thee
  • A Woman of God

    Theme Verse Suggestions

the LORD, she shall be praised."    Proverbs 31:30

    Added Resource - Hand Out:

    Do You Need A Makeover?
    by Julia Bettencourt

This resource includes lots of fun questions about your outward appearance and behavior as well as the inward, with sections on hair, make-up, feet, hands, eyes, etc. focusing on what is acceptable as a Christian woman. Some of it is done in a humorous way but it is designed to be thought provoking as well for self-evaluation.

The handouts are designed especially for Christian women to survey and evaluate certain areas of their lives to bring them to a closer relationship with the Lord.

Great resources at a reasonable cost for Church Ladies Retreats and Events.

    Color Scheme
  • If using for a Mother-Daughter banquet around Mother's Day, pastel colors are a good choice. If you are tired of the overused pinks, try peach and teal shades together.

    General Decorations
  • Lots of flowers and feminine things.
  • You could make it a little Victorian by using lace within your decorating scheme.
  • Use decorated hats and wreaths on any walls.

    Focal Point
  • Mirror/Vanity - Large freestanding mirror. Hang a garland of flowers or a lacy hat off of one top edge for accent. Drape a beautiful dress (something fancy) or a shawl or even a large piece of lace fabric over the back of a rocking chair. An alternative would be to set up a little vanity and mirror with a few feminine things on top such as make-up, pearls, jewelry box and a few flowers.

    For The Tables
  • Mirrored tiles lying flat on tables with candles on them.
  • Teacups with flowers for arrangements.

    Games and Ice-breakers:

    Music
  • Soft classical music for background during any meal related function.
  • Chorus: Beautiful For Thee (not sure of author)
  • If used for a Mother Daughter Banquet, you could gather up all the favorite hymns of the mothers/daughters and put them together on one long playing tape or cd. Play it during your function. Have a list of the names of the songs and the names of the ladies whose favorites they are typed up somewhere in your program bulletin or a handout so as they are played everyone can see whose favorite song it is.

    Favors
  • Small Hand Mirrors - Dollar stores are a great source. Tie ribbons around the handles and glue on a small ribbon rose in the middle of the bow. Tie on a hang tag with your banquet info and theme verse.
  • Embroidered Hankies - Dollar stores are a great source.
  • Favor Index.

    Doorprizes
  • Restaurant Gift certificate for two for mother and daughter to dine out
  • A lacy pair of gloves
  • A Nice Perfume
  • Scarf
  • A Make-up Mirror
  • Gift certificate to a local flower shop
  • Gift Basket~ Fill with lots of feminine things; bath salts, stationary, hair brush and hair doodads, nail polishes.

    Food Suggestions
  • Have a nice luncheon.
