Door Prize Ideas for Women

Door Prize Tips

Just for Fun

Have your helpers wear name badges as museum "tour guides".

Ask your ladies to each dress up for the occasion as a historical woman.

"Museum" Brochure Idea:

Make up a program for your event but make it up as a "museum brochure".

Have "exhibit hours" (your event time)

A "map" highlighting where your displays are located.  Be sure to add in your bathroom locations on your map.

Times of any "informative exhibits" (where you'll have someone in charge of explaining an exhibit or more information about one of the historical women you've chosen to highlight.

Add in special speaker information.

Add any "entertaining" such as having a music special using one of the hymns written by one of our Christian women hymn writers.

Add in any information you think is important for the event.

Visit a Historical Home.

If you have any historical homes or museums locally, check to see if you can get some brochures to hand out or even check to see if they have someone from the museum that would come to your event and share a little about it's history in your community.

Check to see if they have any small items from the museum that they would be willing to come in and show your ladies.

Have a Historical Fashion Show.

A fashion show of different eras of history with appropriate costumes/dresses from each era you want represented.

A fashion show using some of your ladies dressed up as particular Christian women in history.

Tell a brief description of their dress and a brief bio of their life (when she lived, where she was from, what she is remembered for).

Play a dvd/video of a Christian womans life. Check your Christian bookstores.

Share some poems or hymns by some famous women writers such as Frances Ridley Havergal,  Fannie Crosby, and Sarah Adams

Highlight Christian Women

Some Christian Women you may want to highlight.

Susannah Wesley
Fanny (Frances) Crosby
Mary Slessor
Amy Carmichael
Corrie Ten Boom
Betty Stam
Mary Jones

Be sure to highlight Biblical women as well.

Don't forget to mention and honor your pastor's wife and any current-day Christian women you and your ladies know and admire.

You may have some senior ladies within your church that you may want to honor and mention during your event.

Workshop Idea

Have a session on journaling.

There's so much we know about our history because of journals and diaries!

See the Journaling Page for ideas.

Group Craft Project

Cover composition books with scrapbooking paper and decorate for journals.

Food and Serving

Food they would have served in Bible times.  Fresh fruit, etc.
