Anchored in Christ
Women's Ministry Theme

Julia Bettencourt

Posted September 19, 2016

This theme was brainstormed on our CLM Facebook Page back on February 25, 2015.  I have tried to include most of the ideas submitted but you can read all of the input here.

Thanks to all of you wonderful ladies who contributed your ideas!

Spiritual Application

Being anchored in Christ.  Knowing we can count on the Lord no matter what storms arise in our lives.  Having a solid Hope.

Holding fast (to that which is good) 1 Thessalonians 5:21

A nautical theme.

Theme Verse Suggestions

That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:

Which
hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;  Hebrews 6:18-19

Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.  1 Thessalonians 5:21

Icebreakers

Walk the Plank!

Place a blue drop cloth down and put a plank (long piece of wood) down on your stage or platform.

Ask for volunteers to walk the plank!  Take turns having your ladies stand on the plank and share a time when they had to rely on their Anchor (Christ) or felt like God was watching them through a storm.
