Guidelines--Please Read

These guidelines were updated on August 22, 2010.


Please read through ALL of the Guidelines before posting a message on the board. Thank you!

Welcome to the Hen House which is a part of Creative Ladies Ministry, the personal ministry of Julia Bettencourt and http://www.juliabettencourt.com.

This is a place for sharing ideas and making friendships. Most of our topics revolve around Women's Ministry in the local church but you are welcome to start any topic. Christian ladies need encouragement and inspiration in all parts of their lives.

This is not a place for debate on Christian issues. There are already plenty of Christian Bulletin Boards on the internet that participate in that type of thing, so if you would like to argue over doctrine or engage in heated debate over Christian 'hot topics' this may not be the place for you. This is a place to share, help, and encourage.

This message board is an extension of my website and it is up to my discretion as to whether a post will be deleted or not as I am ultimately responsible for the content of this board. Please follow the basic guides below and this will help us maintain a smooth running board.

Guidelines:

1. Signature (Profile) Information.

• We love for you to fill out your profiles as completely as possibly so we can get to know each other. You do not need to use your real name and feel free only to put the state or area in which you live. We don't expect you to list your actual town unless you really see a need to.
  
• Website urls are now allowed in your profiles) However, we do not allow advertisement or self-promotion of websites in any form. You may only insert your website in your profile information---not add urls within your signature. We ask that you do not self-promote (or promote for others) in your posts by text or banners of any kind. If someone wants to click on your website url, it will be linked to the tiny globe under your profile information which will show up to the right of every post you make or reply to.

2. Concerning Outside Website Links.

• No posting of links to other Women's Ministry Websites or Blogs with similar content to http://www.juliabettencourt.com.
• No posting of links to other Message Boards/Forums (other than craft, decorating, or recipe ones) even if it is ran by you personally.
• You are discouraged from posting links to other Christian websites or blogs on the web. From experience this usually never works out as there is such a variety of beliefs and doctrines out there.
• Posting web links to various craft and decorating projects and recipes is certainly permitted but please check out the site before placing the url. Be aware of what you are recommending.
• Remember, self-promoting your own url will be considered advertising and it will be removed.
• You are welcome to post urls to your projects or photos that are on your own website. We love to see what you are doing within your women's groups.

3. No open debate on Christian issues.
Discussion is okay but arguing over biblical "hot topics" will not be tolerated.

4. Please refrain from gossip, venting, or unkind remarks in general.

5. Content Sharing.
Make sure you only post your own content or that which you have the legal right and copyright to share.

6. If you post something that is contrary to the Bible, or not biblically sound, it will be deleted. You can find the basic doctrine's guide here http://www.juliabettencourt.com/doctrine.html

7. Read through a thread in its entirety before posting a reply.
(Perhaps even dwell on it, pray over it, and think wisely and clearly before replying.)

8. Choose your username wisely as it will be your screen name while on the board. If you do not wish everyone to see your "real" name, don't use it as your username.!

9. No usernames with the following terms included-- "pastor" "pastoress", "Rev", "Preacher" etc. Although we may have some woman pastors as members, we ask that you do not discuss your pastorship or the topic of women's pastors-preachers on the message board.

10. Women members only! Although we'd probably never know, we ask for your honestly in this as we'd like to keep this as a place for Christian women to fellowship. Thanks!

11. Enjoy your time here!

The above guidelines are to help ensure that you have a safe and enjoyable experience while visiting. Most were made by past learning experiences. Thanks for taking the time to read and follow them.
