Ages of Seniors

Postby lighthousecollector » Mon Jul 13, 2009 5:36 am

What age is your 'Senior Ministry' program? Ours is supposed to be 50 and up, but the younger people don't go to the activities. I am beginning to think maybe we need to have two seperate ministries, one for 50 - 65 (?) and one 65 & up. Any suggestions?

Our senior ministry is 60+ We meet every month and have a great time. If the spouse is not yet 60 they can come with the spouse who is.

Our church has a Sunday School Class called "The Young and the Rest of Us". Ages 30-60 attend this class. Its a great learning, teaching class that really covers our christian walk in general. I've always thought it would make a great Senior Ministry name. The name indicates that all ages are welcome to attend.

Our Senior group is 50 and up, but we open it up to anyone who would like to join in. Tomorrow they are having BBQ at the church, and I will be going (not 50 yet), and there will be several others that will show up.
