Exploding for Christ

Postby peace » Mon Jun 23, 2008 7:19 pm

I am wanting to do an exploding theme for July...

I thought about having the ladies each light a sparkler and when its their turn as they light their sparkler, they
can explode for Christ.. just saying what the Lord has done for them this year...
Turn off the lights of course..

I dont know this just keeps coming back in my mind as the devotion.... exploding for Christ

Does that sound werid?

I will have the colors and food around July 4th. theme... and each table setting will have those
poppers that shoot out the confetti...

Usually I do a devotion every month... but I figured this could replace the devotion...

Please tell me what you think or your input....

This theme makes me think of "Evangelism Explosion". It was a soul winning, outreach effort for teens when I was young. Thanks for the reminder. I might try this theme with our young people using the evangelism emphasis to encourage them to reach their peers with the Gospel.
Keep us posted on what you do with this...can't wait to hear! :sunny:

How creative you are! Sounds great. How did it go? Did you end up doing any devotion from the Bible? I like this for a New Year's idea. Thanks for sharing!

It went great... We laughed and cried... we sat in a circle and when it was your turn, if you wanted to, in which everyone wanted to praise Him.. but when it was your turn you lit your sparkler and just praised Him while it was being lit.. some kept going even after it was out, but thats the point.. .....
I just started out saying so many times we always go to God w/ a need or prayer and sometimes, we forget just to stop and give Him praise, so this is our time to praise Him...

They all loved it.. I had each one, say it was so different and wonderful and encouraging... just so many different praises each one gave, was such a blessing to each other... then after that we each had those poppers that you pull the string and we said we love you Lord and pulled the string all at the same time...

We sang Praise Him song... praise Him in the morning, praise Him in the noon-time....

I work at a Prosthetic company and you dont realize the things we take for granted, our arms, our legs.. there is soooooooooooooooo much to praise Him for....

I could keep going giving Him the praise, but anyways... it was great...

:sunny: That sounds like a fun and rewarding theme to give God the praise... without Him we are lost. I was poor without Him and now rich because I love Him!
