I have three games we used for a Family Fun night and they were enjoyed by kids and adults alike.
1. The Bean game - Each player is given and envelope with 10 pinto beans in it, when the host says go, players put a certain number of beans in their hand - then they approach another player and ask the question "Odd or Even" - then the other player tries to guess if the number of beans in their hand are an odd or even number (i.e. three beans = odd, 2 beans = even etc.) if they guess correctly, they get the beans in the other player's hand, if they guess incorrectly, they must give up the number of beans that the other player had in their hand. when a player runs out of beans they are out of the game. When the host calls time... the player with the most beans wins.
2. Tortilla Toss - players get into teams of two. Each team gets a Sombrero, and a stack of tortillas. the team mates are positioned accross from each other - (enough of a distance apart to make the game challening but not impossible.) and facing each other. One team mate is the "thrower" and the other is the "catcher". The catcher must put on the sombrero and make sure it is securely on their head. On Go, the thrower begins to toss the tortillas at the catcher. The catcher must try to catch the tortillas on the rim of the sombrero by only stepping forward or backward or to the side - they may not use their hands in any way. When all tortillas are gone for each team, the team that caught the most tortillas wins.
3. Tequila Guzzle - Get a bottle of Ginger Ale, 7-Up or sparkling water, etc. and put a gummy worm in the bottle. On go, Players must guzzle the "tequila" and eat the "worm". The first one to finish drinking all the soda, eats the worm and swallows it is the winner.
We also did Pinata and had a Mexican pot luck (Everyone who brought something had to make sure it was mexican food) and played mariachi music during the games and eating time. Hope these help - Have fun!
