Shared Ideas For Women's Ministry
Thank you to those of you who have turned in their "homework" for the 2009 Back To School Assignment for women's ministry. If you still want to get in on the homework assignment, you can find it here!

Share ways you've had an outreach to your community through your church women's ministry.
We collect baby clothes and put together layettes for the hospital or a ministry in town that helps families who has a parent in jail. Included in the layettes are some diapers, baby bottle, toy, several oneies, sleepers and an outfit or two. We include information about our church and then wrap it all with receiving blankets and a crib blanket. I pin on a tag saying "It's a Girl" or "It's a Boy".
At Christmas we adopt a couple of families from the sharing tree that's in our grocery store and buy clothes and toys for the families. At Thanksgiving we put together several food baskets and deliver to families whose names we receive from the Rural Resource office.
In August we collect school supplies to deliver to an elementary school close by. We live in a logging community where several of the lumber mills have shut down so many of the families are barely making it.
Our church is small, but the people's hearts are very large. They are always looking for ways to reach out.
