Christian Craft: Isaiah 9:6 Name Cards

Names of God Tree

This is a way to make your Sunday School and church Christmas trees have a little more meaning by making the names of God mentioned in Isaiah 9:6 to place on a tree or to just use as decorations. You can also make them for your home trees but I made them a little large with church decorations in mind:)

Isaiah 9:6 is one of my favorite verses at Christmastime.
“For unto us a child is born , unto us a son is given : and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor , The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”

Please note: I spelled "Counsellor" as in the KJV with 2 "l"s.

Mine were printed out on white card stock and I cut them out just around the square edge. Then I sponged the edges with Caramel color ink and I also sponged the ink directly over the entire name to give it kind of an aged look. They have distressing ink that would work just as well.

I layered my names on a brown cardstock base with a layer of olive green which I stamped a snowflake image on. I used a corner punch with a brad to do opposite corners around the name. I added wide ribbon.

  • Spell out Isaiah 9:6 on a church bulletin board and make
the name cards to add to it.
  • Make the name cards and string across your fireplace.
  • This is a great way to Keep “Christ” in your Christmas!
