Text Me

...Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.  Matthew 4:4

I'm not really too great at text messaging.  When I first got my cell phone, my daughter would text me and normally call me back before I would have time to finish typing out my reply to her.  I'm just a little slow at it, although I am getting better.  I just don't text too often so I'm not too text-savvy.

I am trying to learn the lingo and remember some of those text messaging abbreviations so it doesn't take me so long.  Of course some of those abbreviations have been around for email so I already knew a few.

Personally, I really love just real language in actual words myself.  Language is beautiful to me.  I love all those describing words and details that we get away from when we email and text so much.

I'm so grateful that God didn't leave any details or descriptions out of His Word, and I don't want to miss any of it.  God used the writers of the Scripture to put those things down in detail for us.  His Word is for us.

I think that in this fast paced world, that some of us make a regular habit of checking our emails, our text messages, and even our voice mail, but we forget to check those messages that are there for us from the Lord.  All those messages we find in His Word were meant for us to learn from.  They are important.  Every word.

Matthew 4:4 says,

But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Here are some of the great texts left for us---worth forwarding.

143 or ILU (I Love You)

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  John 3:16

IWALU (I Will Always Love You)

LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.  Jeremiah 31:3

GAL (Get A Life)

I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.  John 10:10

IYSS (If You Say So)

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  Romans 10:9

KWIM (Know What I Mean)

These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.  1 John 5:13

L8R (Later)

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.  John 14:3

NO1 (No One)

And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.  John 10:28

1ce (Once)

By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:

But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God.  Hebrews 10:10-12

TMWFI (Take My Word For It)

Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.  Matthew 24:35

KIT (Keep In Touch)

Pray without ceasing.  1 Thessalonians 5:17

WAN2TLK (Want To Talk)

Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.  Jeremiah 33:3

A3 (Anytime, Anyplace, Anywhere)

Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?  Psalms 139:7

Conclusion:

Aren't you glad that we have such a great God that is so advanced? Look at prayer.  It's instant.  Prayer doesn't even have to be typed out or bounced off of cell towers to get to our Lord.  I find that exciting.

Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.  Matthew 6:8

I'm so glad that the Lord left His Word for us.  I never tire of reading those wonderful messages that he has left for me and I'm thankful that He is there to talk to and turn to whenever I want.

I don't even have to have a cell phone.  The reception is fine.  I know He'll always hear me.  I don't have to worry that He never got the message or that He didn't check His voice-messages

He is the God of perfect communication and I find something very comforting in that.

So, have you checked your messages from the Lord, lately?
