Please!

"If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
" John 14:14
My son is almost two years old and we have been working
with him trying to teach him to say "please" when he wants
something. He will say lots of words but never the
word "please".
Not long ago he and my three-year old daughter had empty
shampoo bottles that I had let them play with under the
running water while I was getting the bath water ready. My daughter got in her brother's way and he blurted
out, "pease, pease, pease, pease, pease, pease, pease!"
He shouted it out and then started to cry.
Finally, he had said the magic word! I thought
to myself that I guess he had to want something bad
enough first before he would say the word.
Isn't that so like us as Christians? Like my little
boy we have to want something bad enough first.
We go along and get totally frustrated with things
in our lives before we cry out to God and say "please".
It's sometimes easy to forget that all we have to say are
the magic words like, "Dear God", "Our Heavenly Father",
"Please, Lord" and lift our hearts to Him in prayer.
