Noah's Ark Thing

Last week the kids were playing on the patio and all of a sudden, Tara, my four year old, comes running in, "Mommy! Mommy! There's a Noah's Ark thing in the sky!" She went on and on about how it was beautiful and just how "great" it was and she proceeded to tug at me to go see this "beautiful Noah's Ark thing".
Since it hadn't rained I was a little curious to see this unexpected rainbow too so I willingly followed her out to see.
As I looked up, there across the otherwise blue sky ran a white line which was the trail from a jet that had flown overhead. I believe the proper term is a
contrail. I wanted to laugh out loud but as I looked down, my daughter just stood admiring it and with the sweetest expression on her face she said, "Mommy, isn't it beautiful?" Then she followed it up and said most adamantly, "God made that. God made everything."
I didn't have the heart to tell her she wasn't seeing a rainbow like in the Noah's Ark story. I didn't want to burst her bubble. I just replied that she was right, that God made everything.
As I went back in the house I recalled that I was just complaining about one situation or another, fretting over a few trials in my life. I was having somewhat of a pity party when Tara came barrelling in about the news of "the Noah's Ark thing".
Sometimes all I see are the jet trails. Maybe I need to start looking for rainbows in the sky. After all, God did make everything.
