DVD Case Papercraft Cover

I thought that this might be a fun project for a Chick Flick night which I know so many of you hold for your women’s ministry groups from time to time.  I thought the dvd cover would be cute to cover a dvd doorprize and the  movie candy and popcorn covers would make great favors for a movie evening.

I used the Bella Rose scrapbooking paper (Designer Series Paper) from Stampin’ Up! which I think is beautiful.  I cut out some of the roses from the paper and adhered them to cardstock and used foam dimensionals to make the rose embellishments.  The stamped word image is from the Stampin’ Up! “Full of Life” set.  One thing I did find out is that the total length of a dvd is just about 11 and 1/4 so in order to use a 8 1/2  x 11 piece of cardstock, I just added the scallop to the edge.  The cover is not attached directly to the dvd case, it is just tied on with the bow.

The movie candy pouch is just cardstock that I crimped and placed around the box and adhered.  I made an eyelet on the front and back to bring ribbon up into and knot to hold the candy box.  I’ve placed a photo of the inside below.  You could make the sides come up further on the box, depending on how much of the box you want shown.  I liked it sticking out:)  I found there were a variety of sizes of movie candy boxes so you just need to measure and fit so that your box slides in and out easily.

The popcorn pouch is just measured to fit,  wrapped around folded and adhered with adhesive tape on the side and along the inside of the bottom.  I found those microwave popcorn packages come in various sizes too, so just measure to fit snugly but still allow it to slide out.  I wrapped ribbon around the package and tied a knot at the top to slide in and out.

I think these dvd wrapper covers would make great gifts as well because you could decorate them accordingly–Florals/hearsts–romantic movie—Cowboys/Western—Western movie—Fun Puns or something cute—Comedy.

Have a blessed day,
Julia
