Handcrafted Guitar Card
Hello Creative Friends,
Today I’m steering away from Christmas projects to share a card I sent to one of my brothers for his birthday. I had seen this type of card a long time ago. I think it was from a book. By the way, be sure to check out your local library for scrapbooking and card making books for great ideas that you don’t have to pay for. When I take my kids to the library I always get a few craft books for myself for inspiration.
I didn’t use any type of pattern for this but just cut the shape of it free-hand. I would love to tell you what sizes I used for those circles but I never thought to write it down before I sent it. I did use my Circle Scissors Plus on the larger ones.
The strings are tied around brads and go over the top of the card and are adhered to the inside. I then put a piece of cardstock on the inside for decoration and to cover the string ends. The strings are chrochet thread with metalic color on it. Tried jewelry wire but got frustrated and the crochet thread was so much easier.
I used More Mustard card stock, a Stampin’ Up! color and sponged the edges with various shades of browns and yellows to get the look I wanted.
From time to time some of you ask me about how I do the inside of my cards. I normally just type out whatever I want to say with a nice font and print and cut it out and adhere to the inside of the card. You can tell this one was belated:) If I want to write out something and it’s a dark color of card stock, I just use a contrasting gel pen.
Have a creative day,
