Bag With Scallops “Tote”
Hello Creative Friends,
I’m continuing today with the ideas I’ve been sharing with you to make your Big Shot dies go farther by getting more use out of them and making a variety of projects from each one. Today’s share is a tote made with the Bag With Scallops Bigz XL Die. Didn’t know it could do so many things, did you?!

First of all, I made 2 die cuts of this die with the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine. I then used my Scallop Edge Punch to go around the tops of each side (except the back ones with the scallop flaps). You could skip this step, but it makes the boxes of each side shorter and allows more of a handle grip. It’s almost too tall on the sides without the scallop, but you could just cut down the sides a little instead of doing the scallop and that would work too. The Scallop Edge Punch is item #112091, page 187 of the catalog.
Punch a hole with your 1 and 1/4 Circle Punch through the scallop of each die cut to match up to make the handle. I punch one first and then make marks on the other before punching to get them even. The Stampin’ Up! card stock is so thick you can’t punch through two at once.
Next, assemble each die cut with Sticky Strip, placing the creases from the die inside so they won’t be seen and leaving the scallop flap uncreased as you won’t be folding it. Finish the two and place back to back with the scallop handles meeting, adhering with Sticky Strip. That’s it. Now decorate as desired.
I put cellophane bags of small caramel candy cups in mine but I found out that those 2 ounce bags of Ghiradelli coffees fit perfectly as well. I think these are going to be my goodie containers for candy at Christmas (unless I come up with something else first). These just went together quickly and were fun to make. Plus I can do one candy in one side and another kind in the other side.
This tote features the new Thoroughly Modern Designer Series Paper on Bermuda Bay Card Stock. The worded image is from Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set and is tied with Polka Dot Bermuda Bay Ribbon.
I made a page with all of the Bag With Scallops Ideas on one page for you. I thought it would be nice to put them all together so you can see them all at once without searching through the blog.
I also made a page for the Box # 2 Ideas as well.
Have a creative day,
