Bag With Scallops Treat “Box”

Hello Creative Friends,
I love showing you all the ways that the dies for the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine can be used other  than the way they are intended so today’s share is another one of those ways.  If you are going to invest in them you might as well have some options for using the dies in different ways.

This is the Bag With Scallops made into a treat “box”.  I did one which I thought would be fun for Missions Conference using the wheat image from the Farm Life stamp set.  The verse I just printed out on the computer and used the Wide Oval Punch to make a tag.  If you like printing out verses for your tags for favors, etc., the Stampin’ Up! punches are a great way to make them all uniform size and really perk them up.  I usually sponge a little ink around mine to give them some definition.  The punches are on pages 186-187 of the current catalog.  Stampin’ Up! carries over 40 punches.

Below is a couple more treat boxes that I did with the Bag With Scallops Die.  Okay,  I got on a roll and could envision them for  every holiday, theme,  and season.  The lemon slice image is from the Tart and Tangy stamp set.  (You can actually make that an orange or lime slice instead but I wanted a lemon).  The worded image is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set.  I thought this would be fun for the Lemon’s Women’s Ministry Theme on the website.

The cow one I did just for a fun gift.  I need a few door-prizes for something I’ve got coming up and thought this would be perfect.  The small Cow Tales candy was just  the right size for the box.  The cow image and wheat images are from the Farm Life stamp set and the worded image is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Note:  If you decide to make this project, you must stamp and punch out the scoop front of your treat box first before assembling.  Also you must cut a little bit off of  the front tabs where it attaches to the sides towards the top so those tabs don’t show where you punch the scoop out.  Also place your side creases facing  inward since you won’t be using them and that way you won’t see them on the sides of the box.

Be sure to check out the “backpacks” I did with this die as well.  I looked back through my posts and couldn’t find where I’d shown you how the bag is made to look normally, so I guess I’ll have to get one of those up for you soon.  The die makes a very pretty favor bag.

Have a creative day,
