Scallop Punch Christmas Tree Card
I’ve been playing with the punches again:) I made this Christmas card using the Stampin’ Up! Scallop Circle Punch. I tore strips of Whisper White cardstock for the snow layers and placed them on a base of black cardstock.
I made the trees making scallops and then cutting them from one point to five points and rounding it out. I then sponged them with ink on the edges and more on the top layer to make it look like it snowed more on the tops of the trees. Then I embossed them with Winter White Emboss Powder and used 3 peices for each tree.
The “Season’s Greetings” is from the Word Flurries Rub Ons. I was real pleased with the outcome.
The Scallop Circle Punch is fast becoming one of my favorite tools! It’s Item #109043 and the punches are found on pages 188-189 of the
current Stampin’ Up! Catalog.

WOW!! Your trees are GORGEOUS!! I have two DUMB questions for you … (please forgive me, I’m a newbie!!). Did you use white ink to sponge? How do you emboss with the Winter White embossing powder if you didn’t use stamps? I know I’m missing something obvious here, but if I delete my questions, I’ll never learn, right?
Thanks for the inspiration. You have an AWESOME BLOG!! I can’t wait to have time to take a better look around!!

Judy,
I just sponged on a little Glorious Green ink (I used green so if you could still see any of the ink when I was done embossing, it would give it some dimension), sprinkled on the powder and used the heat tool. I embossed each little tree piece separately. The pieces are small, so be sure to hold them with your tweezers to emboss them. You don’t want to burn yourself:)
Oh, you are WONDERFUL for responding so quickly. I understand that there are two kinds of inks that SU sells. Is the Glorious Green that you used the Classic or the Craft … or, in this case, does it matter? Thanks again for your help!! Judy
I just used classic. I’ve been paper crafting for a long time but using the ink and the stamping part is new for me too. I just try things and if they work–they do–if they don’t–they don’t.
