Pineapple Punch Gift Bag

Hello Creative Friends,
Today I’m sharing a pineapple gift bag I made using paper punches.  I’m trying to finish up a devotional on hospitality (Lord willing) and a women’s ministry theme on that topic.   Hopefully I’ll have those finished and on the main site soon.   Since the pineapple is the symbol for hospitality, I wanted to come up with some type of pineapple to go with the theme.  This is what I ended up with.

Pineapple Punch Gift BagI used a purchased bag with handles  (I think from Target) and just placed the pineapple directly on that.

I textured the card stock for the pineapple itself with the diamond shape Sizzix Texturz Plates (Backgrounds 1) and ran that through the Big Shot (die cutting machine) first.

Next I used the Wide Oval Punch and made 12 cut outs from my diamond shape textured card stock.   I’m not sure how well you can see the texture in the photo but it makes a big difference.    I layered those punch cut outs in the shape of a pineapple overlapping them.

For the pineapple top I used the Scallop Oval Punch and cut 7 shapes and scored down the middle of each and folded before adhering them into place.

I sponged all the edges of the punch cut outs with ink.

Pineapple Hospitality Gift BagIt’s not too clear but the tag says, “Just a little thanks” and that image is from the Matchbox Messages stamp  set from Stampin’ Up!  I thought adding the thanks would make this into a cute little hostess gift.

Click on the thumbnail to see the details of this project a  little more clearly.

You could probably make this project with the Small or Large Oval Punches as well.  You would just need to cut out more pieces.  It might be a little more tedious to do but the result might be fun.

Have a creative day,
