Scallop Oval Punch Palm Tree

Hello Creative Friends,
Hope you are off to a good Sunday.  Thought I’d share a card I made yesterday using the Scallop Oval Punch to make a palm tree.   First I scored down the center of each scallop cut out (you’ll need 5 of them) and folded in slightly.   I cut slits in each scallop up to about the 4th scallop on each side.   I used my SNAIL Adhesive to glue the scallops down on the ends without the slits.  The coconuts are made from the 1/2 Circle Punch and put on with Stampin’ Dimensionals (foam mounts).  The tree trunk is just cut freehand.

As you can see I dressed my bear for summer.  He’s from the Under The Stars stamp set from Stampin’ Up!, which is one of my favorites.  I made his little outfit from some troipical paper and his lei is made from the Trio Flower Punch.

We’ve already had some really hot days here so I guess I have to be ready for summer.  I’m not sure where spring went because somehow we missed it here:)

You can see all my Punch Projects on this page.

Have a wonderful day,

Hi Julia -so cute!!! another great project!! thanks for sharing!! I thought I would pass along a tip that someone shared with me – if you want the bear to look a bit less menacing – after you ink your stamp, take a damp q tip and wipe the ink off his uni-brow! without that unibrow he looks friendlier!

Genius, pure genius! I really love the hulabear on splitcoast too. These are wonderful!!! I am going to teach a variation on these to my stamp club ladies, giving credit to you and your blog for the idea. Thanks for sharing!
