Another Paper Flower Craft
Hello Creative Friends,
I know what you all are thinking—that Julia just has too much time on her hands! Really I must tell you that making these paper flowers is somewhat therapeutic for me. It just really relaxes me to sit down and do these.
These are of course made with the Circle Scissors Plus. What did I ever do without that tool? They are just varying sizes of circles. I ran the circles through my Crimper, sponged the edges with ink, cut slits part-way in all the way around, and then curled the edges using a bamboo skewer (my other new favorite tool:)
I poked holes in the middle of each layer with a tool from my Crafters Tool Kit and slid them on the bamboo skewer all the way to the top after I’d covered the skewer with floral tape.
I turned the layers both ways to form the flower. The top layer (the inside of the flower) is put on the top of the skewer with Pop-Up Glue Dots. Also right under the bottom layer I placed a Pop-Up Glue Dot (they are pretty big) so the flower wouldn’t slip down the skewer but it was pretty snug anyways. You can see how I put a green layer on the underside of the flower to finish it off in the photo to the right.

The “Hello Friend” on the tag is a Stampin’ Up! Rub On. They are on pages 171-172 of the Catalog.
One thing I found out with these and with almost anything you crimp, is that you must have good quality cardstock because when you crimp the cardstock, the fibers break down somewhat and it’s not as sturdy. I used the Stampin’ Up! cardstock. I must say that they do have good quality cardstock and I’m very happy with using it in my projects.
