Retreat Goody Bag Craft

Spring Gift Bag CraftI made some of these type of bags back before Christmas and I shared the Teacher Gift Bag one that I did, but I wanted to show you how cute they could be done up in spring colors.  I made several of these up before Christmas with Christmas themes for some of my homemade goodies that I gave away to friends.

They are very easy and go pretty fast if you are making up many of them.  It’s just cardstock applied to a craft bag on both sides.  I cut the cardstock on these to 6 x 3 3/4.   The craft bags are 3 1/2 w  and  2 1/4 deep.  I used craft bags but you could use lunch bags as well.  The craft bag was around 6 1/2 inches in height but I cut my bag down a little lower than my handle hole.  On the ones I did before Christmas, I used an oval punch for the handle but I like using that scallop edge around the hole so I used a 1 1/4 inch circle on these ones so I could have the scallop fit correctly.

If you want to see the side view, look back on the earlier post with this type of bag.     http://www.juliabettencourt.com/blog/?p=675

I know many of you are starting on spring women’s retreats and will be giving away retreat goody bags.  These make great inexpensive ones and you can decorate them to go with any type of theme.

Have a creative day,
Julia

    Julie…
Very cute indeed! How did you make the ladybugs? Any ideas if you were to use a butterfly?

    I’m enjoy visiting your blog…:O)
