Punched Flowers and Homemade Card

I’ve been experimenting with a few things because my youngest daughter (who will be 11 on Friday) wants to do a craft project with her friends for her birthday. We finally decided we’d do these little pink roses–kind of rosie posies made with circle punches. I had some I made just on stems to show you but am having trouble uploading with WordPress today. It keeps cutting off most of my photos so we are just going with this photo that it did let me upload correctly.
It was funny because I put one of these flowers together and just used my snail adhesive and my daughter protested that we “gotta have” dimensionals on these. (Those are mounting foams if you aren’t used to that term.) She was so right. They looked so much better with each layer having dimensionals:)
For the flower, I used a 1 3/4 inch, 1 1/4 inch, 1 inch, and 1/2 inch circle punches. The leaves I just made with the 1 3/4, making two cuts.
I sponged around each of the flower layers with ink to define them. The paper I used on the card is the Stampin’ Up! new Tea Party Designer Series Paper. Its item #113992 on page 161 of the current catalog. I just love this new paper. It’s so sweet and springy!
The “thinking of you” is from the new “Trendy Trees” stamp set. I’m loving it because the trees in that set are fun but I think it’s just wonderful to have a stamp with words that are big enough to read and I do a lot of “thinking of you” cards for my personal use so I fell in love with this set just because of this one word stamp. Trendy Trees is item #113258 on page 92 of the catalog.
Have a creative day,
Julia
