Church Valentine’s Banquet Ideas

Valentine Banquet FavorsHello Creative Friends,

I’m getting this posted a lot later in the day than I wanted, but I’m sure you know all about those best laid plans:)  I’m sharing with you just a few last minute quick and easy favors for your church Valentine’s and Sweetheart banquets.

Be sure to check out the links at the bottom of the post.  I put up one new page on the main site and put back up some Valentine’s banquet pages that had somehow remained missing since moving the site from the other domain.   You can click the photo to enlarge.

Love Brew Craft

This is a little “Love Brew”.  It holds a hot chocolate packet and I’ve printed out the verse, John 5:12 on it.  I think the world would be a better place if we’d all drink in a little love and spread it around, don’t you?

Just cut cardstock 4 1/4 x 11.  (You get two out of an 8 1/2 by 11)  Score at 5 inches and 9 inches on the 11 inch side.  Fold in at the 5 inch score line and out at the next score line to make pouch.  I added brads to each side but if you were making these for a large number, you may want to just put a staple on each side under the flap.   I used Wendy Font on the verse and printed it out on cardstock.      Click the photo to enlarge.

Valentine's Scallop Favors

I know you’ve seen these before but I wanted to show you that even if you don’t have the Scallop Punch or have time to get it before you need your Valentine’s favors finished, you can do them with just circles and they can look just as cute.

You can use Peppermint Patties or the large Gold Candy Coins to sandwich between.  I added tags that I printed off of the computer about God’s love.     Click the photo to enlarge.Valentine's Lollipop Covers

These are candy topped lollipops.  Just make a cover with cardstock and scrapbook designer paper.  Add a bow if you wish.  Then add a heart shaped wrapped candy and you are done.

These are cute to send in for kid’s class parties too.    Click the photo to enlarge.

Candy Bar Wrapper CraftThis is a 4.4 oz. Hershey’s candy bar wrapped in scrapbooking designer paper and embellished a little.  I put John 15:12 on this too.  When in doubt for a favor, my favorite thing is just to add a Bible verse.  You can’t go wrong with that.  I love stamping images and all that, but I enjoy printing out bible verses from my computer for projects.  These candy bars would be great doorprizes or to give to your banquet volunteers and helpers.  Click on the photo to enlarge.

If you’ve done something fun or creative at one of your church Valentine’s banquets or if something sticks out that you remember about one you’ve attended, just leave a comment and share!

Blessings,
Julia

we are having a valantine banquet and for the desssert we are making brownies, and cutting out hearts with a cookie cutter. We will put chocolate frosting on them and place little candy hearts on top of the frosted heart. I am going to place them on a small plate with a red dolly on the plate to set the heart brownie on. We are decorating to make it look like a Italian Restaurant. Serving lasanga, salad, italian wedding soup, and brownies. Served in courses. Italian CD’s will be playing during dinner.

For our banquet we are doing a western theme. Everyone is encouraged to come dressed in overalls, bandannas, boots, ect. For decoration we used red and white gingham table cloths on the tables. The centerpieces are mason jars with bandannas tied around them and sunflowers placed in the jar. We also created a covered wagon for the entrance-pvc pipe rounded over with white sheets thrown over them(hard to describe). We used old quilts and lanterns on the piano for decoration. The drinks are going to be put in large wash tubs. We basically tried to make everything look very “old fashion”. The food went right along with the theme…BBQ, baked beans, potato salad, pound cake, and cobbler. We are using a christian comedian DVD as entertainment along with some door prizes.
