Circle Scissors Flowers

circle Scissors Flower CraftToday I’m sharing some of my Circle Scissors Plus flower creations with you.  Hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoyed making them.

My daughter (the almost 11 year old–her birthday is Friday) loved them and wants some for her party.  I’m going to be making her a banner with her name out of some of these type big flowers.  I’ll share that when I finish it.

Circle Scissor Flower CraftI put stamped word images from the “Full of Life” stamp set from Stampin’ Up! on some of these.  That set is on the dormant list.  Wouldn’t these be fun with your kids or grand kids photos in the middle of the flowers ?

I’m starting to get emails concerning Spring Banquets and retreats for Women’s Ministry so I thought these would also be cute decorations to make.

This is one of those projects where you choose what size to make it.  I made the larger flower with a 6 inch circle base with 4 1/2 inch petals.  The Circle Scissors Plus goes up to 6 inches so I just had to do something with the 6 inch circle!

The other flowers are 4 1/2 inch bases with 2/12 inch petals.  The last one (with the ladybug) is a 4 inch bases with 3 inch petals.

To make these, wrap a sturdy floral stem wire with floral tape and set it aside.  (For the larger 6 inch base one, I put two floral stem wires together and wrapped them.)  Cut 2 circles for your base size and 5 to 6 petals, depending on the size you choose.  You may want to play around with it to see how they fit first to determine how many petals you’ll need.   It depends on your base size and how big you want your petals as well.

Adhere the petal circles to the back of your base.   Decorate your flower however you wish.  I sponged the edges before I glued mine together and I used some smaller circles on mine to decorate with.  I used a gel pen to make the little dots and dashes and the Raspberry Tart and the Bella Rose papers on some of these.

Next turn your flower over and take your stem wire and place it on the back of your flower base.  I adhered mine with Sticky Strip and then ran the Snail Adhesive (tape runner) over the base back before I put it on.  I made the leaves with circles too–some cut apart and some folded whole.

I got carried away and made a lady bug too:)  These are like the ones you make in grade school.  I used a 4 inch circle for the body and for the wings and a 3 inch one for her head.  The spots are 1 inch, which I used a punch for.  I just put the wings on with brads.

I’ll be sharing some more Circle Scissors Plus projects later on in the week, so keep watching for more.  Tomorrow I’ll be sharing  last minute Valentine’s Banquet Ideas.

If you make some of these flowers or plan to, just leave a comment.  I love hearing the creative ways you use the ideas on the website.

Have a creative Monday,
Julia
