Hello Creative Friends,
Today I’m sharing one of my Thanksgiving cards I made with the Gifts of the Earth stamp set from Stampin’ Up!

I stamped the image on Whisper White card stock and used the Blender Pens to fill in the image with ink. Card stock used for layering is Chocolate Chip and Kraft. I embellished with Pumpkin Pie Striped Grosgrain Ribbon and some Vintage Brads.

By the way, I stamped the image on with Sahara Sand ink before filling it in. It’s my color of choice when I’m going to fill something in with ink. I like it because it’s not so stark as using black or a dark color. Sahara Sand ink is also what’s used for sponging the edges and around the images.

This Gifts of the Earth stamp set is in the Holiday Mini Catalog on page 15 . The Holiday Mini runs through January 4th.

Today I’m sharing a card done with the Snow Swirled stamp set from Stampin’ Up! This is a very pretty set. I especially love all the swirls in the tree stamp that comes in the set.

<img class="size-full wp-image-5137 aligncenter" style="border: black 1px solid;" title="Stampin' Up!
I used one of the snowflakes from the set to make the background by embossing with silver embossing powder and using the Heat Tool on Chocolate Chip card stock. I layered with Olive Green card stock and more Chocolate Chip. The tree image is stamped on Whisper White card stock and embossed. I added a ribbon (Chocolate Chip Striped Grosgrain) and a pearl is tied on from the Pretties Kit.

If you are unfamiliar with how to emboss, you can find simple directions for this technique on the main Stampin’ Up! company website here. This is the company website so be sure if you want to purchase anything from me to go over to my Stampin’ Up! Business Site.

I took a photo at a slight angle so you could see how pretty the embossing can be with this stamp set. The set includes 6 stamps which you can see below. It is item #111690 and is on page 36 of <a title="Stampin' Up!
Hello Creative Friends,
Today I’m sharing with you some quick Wish List Books I did for my kids. I love my kids to tell me lots of things they want for Christmas–stuff in all price ranges. I told them to write in them or to cut out and glue in what they want from the toy brochures and catalogs we’ve been getting in the mail.

These were so quick and easy to make into something a little more fun than just a plain notebook. I used the small pocket size -Memo/Composition books (size 3 1/3 x 4 1/4). You can usually get 3 or 4 in shrink wrap at a low price in your stationary departments or sometimes in the dollar bins.

I just adhered some Designer Series Paper (Merry Moments) cut to the size of the notebook, covered them, and embellished them a little. I printed out the “Wish List” wording from my computer and punched the wording out with the 1 and 1/4 inch Circle Punch.

I added ribbon to my daughters, but I knew for certain my son would not want any ribbons on his.

My kids are starting to fill them up! I made them for my younger kids (10 and almost 12) but my oldest daughter (23) says I need to make her one too:)

Have a creative day,

Hello Creative Friends,
Today’s share is another way to make your Sunday School and church Christmas trees to have a little more meaning by making the names of God mentioned in Isaiah 9:6 to place on a tree or to just use as decorations. You can also make them for your home trees but I made them a little large with church decorations in mind:)

Isaiah 9:6 is one of my favorite verses at Christmastime.
“For unto us a child is born , unto us a son is given : and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor , The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”

There is a pdf file of the names for you to print out. Mine were printed out on white card stock and I cut them out just around the square edge. Then I sponged the edges with Creamy Caramel ink and I also sponged the ink directly over the entire name to give it kind of an aged look.

To begin with I made a base of Chocolate Chip card stock (6 x 3 1/2). The next layer is Old Olive card stock (5 1/2 x 3) on which I stamped one of the snowflake images on from the Stampin’ Up! Snow Swirled stamp set, Item #111690 in the catalog on page 36. This is a very pretty stamp set and I’ll be sharing some projects with it later in the week.

I used the Creamy Caramel ink to sponge around the edges of the Old Olive card stock as well. Ribbon, brads, and photo corners (from Photo Corners Punch) were added to finish the name cards off. I didn’t add any type of hanger but only placed them on the branches of the tree but you could add ribbon or string if you wanted.

Tips:

Spell out Isaiah 9: 6 on a church bulletin board and make the name cards to add to it.

Make the name cards and string across your fireplace.

This is a great way to Keep “Christ” in your Christmas!

By the way, I spelled “counsellor” on the pdf with two l’s as it is in the KJV.

Have a creative day,

These are made by cutting card stock to 2 3/4 inches by 8 1/2 , scoring on the 8 1/2 side at 3 1/2 inches in and then 5 inches to make the fold lines for the bottom. This is my favorite size of candy tent because you can get four out of an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of card stock.

I used the Scallop Circle Punch on the front and slid in a cello bag of candy, punching holes in the top corners of the card stock and running ribbon through. I slid on some little plastic rattles that I found. I wanted some pastel candies to use but had a terrible time finding any so I ended up stacking 4 fruit flavored Tootsie Rolls in each cello bag. They just fit.

I made a diaper cake for a centerpiece for the shower. It was my first attempt at making one. It was my younger daughter (my 11 year old) Tara’s idea to stand up the teether for the topper. I thought she had a great idea:)

Awhile back I shared a gable box by altering the Sizzix Box #2 Die for the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine just a little. Basically, I added a second lid/flap and adhered it to make both the front and back of the box match.

<img class="size-medium wp-image-5067 aligncenter" style="border: black 1px solid;" title="Stampin' Up!
Today I’m sharing another box done the same way. Actually this was the first one that I did. I just have had it set aside for awhile till it got closer to Christmas. I used the Stampin’ Up! punches to turn this into a gingerbread house.

Punches Used:
Scallop Circle Punch (Bushes)
1 Inch Circle (Roof)
Wide Oval (Door)
1/8 Handheld (Lights Across Roof-line)
1/8 Handheld & 1/2 Inch Circle (Wreath–Punch center out first with smaller punch)

The windows are 3/4 inch squares. I sponged the edges of all the pieces with White Craft Ink and the little “lights” along the roof have Crystal Effects over top of them to give them a shinny look. The details on everything are just drawn on with a white gel pen (uniball Signo).

You can see I decorated all the way around the box. Below you can tell how I just wrapped the bushes on around the little house by overlapping them. I used approximately 48 punch cut-outs for the roof. It all depends though how much you overlap the rows and how close each row is. I found that mine weren’t exact. If you end up with roof ”shingles” hanging over the sides, just cut them off with scissors.

I used Jumbo Eyelets on each flap to put my ribbon through. This makes a great little box to hide a gingerbread treat inside.

Hello Creative Friends,
Hope you’ve had a good weekend. I will be sharing a few different themed Christmas tree ideas leading up to Christmas.

Today I’m sharing a Fruit of the Spirit tree with ornaments made from just ribbon, card stock, and a little stamping on some. For those of you who will be placing a Christmas tree in your church or a Sunday School Class, this is a great theme to use on your tree.

First, I’ve made fruit jar ornaments and placed the Fruit of the Spirit on them from Galatians 5:22, 23.

”But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance:against such there is no law.”

The jar pattern can be found here! I printed off the “fruit” wording from my computer printer onto white card stock. Use your favorite font. You may need a practice run to make sure your longest fruit wording fits inside of your punch cut-out. Be sure to give good spacing so that you have plenty of room to punch out your words. You could also write them on free-hand with an ink marker if you prefer.

By the way, I used Black Jack Font at 20 pnt. on my fruit “labels”. Black Jack is my favorite font lately to do personal projects with. You can download it for free here.

The jars themselves are just cut out of various colors of card stock with the pattern. I punched out the “labels” from the Scallop Oval Punch and layered it on a Wide Oval Punch cut-out. The hearts I added are punched from the Heart to Heart Punch. For the hanger, punch 1/8 holes into the top corners of the “jar”. I used silver cording.

The edges of each piece of card stock is sponged with ink to give definition. Then I used the Silver Shimmer Paint on the top of the jar and around the sides and bottom. (Right now the Shimmer Paint from Stampin’ Up! is out of stock but should be available on November 9th.) It is from the Mini Holiday Catalog.

For the “fruit” ornaments I used 2 x 3 pieces of card stock (Creamy Caramel) and ran them through the Crimper, rounding the corners with my Corner Rounder Punch. I then stamped some images from the Tart & Tangy stamp set and layered them on scallop circles (Scallop Circle Punch). Again, all the edges are sponged with ink for definition. Just add ribbon to decorate, punch a hole (1/8) and make a hanger (I used white crochet thread).

Tips:

These ornaments are a quick and simple way to do any of the smaller stamp images.

This is a great project to use your ribbon and card stock scraps.

Find other “fruit” pieces to fully dress your fruit themed tree. Usually there’s a lot of apples and pear ornaments available during the holiday season in all colors. You could also add “fake” grape clusters, etc. Use your imagination:)

The Fruit of the Spirit jars would also be great to use for a church bulletin board. Just make them without the hanger and line them up as on a “shelf”.

Hello Creative Friends,
Today I’m sharing another punch art project. This one is a turkey which I’ve placed on a tent card.

Tent cards are easy to make and are fun for dressing up tables and you can add candy bags inside of them to make a take home favor. Just cut your card stock to 11 1/2 x 3 1/2 measurements, scoring at 1 1/2, then 5 1/2, and 9 1/2. Fold at the score lines and overlap the bottom folds and adhere with Sticky Strip.

Stampin’ Up! Punches Used:
Scallop Circle Punch (Underbelly and Wings)
Scallop Oval Punch (Feathers)
1 3/4 Inch Circle Punch (Belly)
Small Oval Punch (Head)
Three Heart Punch (Heart for Waddle)
Five Petal Punch (Tip for Beak)
Flower Trio ( Feet)

I did sponge around the edges with Creamy Caramel ink on all the pieces just to give it some definition. The eyes are dotted on with a black ink marker. I placed the feathers on the back of the tent card and the body on the front.

<img class="size-full wp-image-5016 aligncenter" style="border: black 1px solid;" title="Stampin' Up!
You can see by the side view that I placed in a cello bag of candy corn. The wording is from the Gifts of the Earth stamp set from the Holiday Mini Catalog and all of the punches used are found on pages 186-187 of the <a title="Current Stampin' Up! Hope you’ve had a good week. Today I’m sharing a punch art owl that I’ve done with the Stampin’ Up! punches. I’ve placed him on a white kraft bag tied up with some 1 1/4″ Pumpkin Pie Striped Grosgrain Ribbon.

I made a verse tag to attach with Proverbs 2:1 –To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding. I ran the words off with the computer using Black Jack font.

Punches Used:
Scallop Circle Punch (stomach and wings)
Round Tab Punch (face/head)
Trio Flower Punch (feet)
5-Petal Flower (tip for beak)
3/4 Inch Circle (outer eye)
1/2 Inch Circle (inner eye)
1/8 Circle (eye dot)

I also used the Corner Rounder Punch for my verse tag. I love making quick tags with that, especially to add verses to projects.

Here’s a few more of my favorite “wisdom” verses.

Proverbs 4:5–”Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not…”
Proverbs 4:7–”Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom…”
Proverbs 16:16–”How much better is it to get wisdom than gold!…”

Hello Creative Friends,
Hope you are all having a good week. Today I’m sharing some little Thanksgiving boxes. I love things for the Thanksgiving table and these would be fun little favors for each place setting.

I made blank note cards for the inside that I decorated, then scored, folded up, and tied with Linen Thread. This project could be used as little gift boxes for you to write a special “thank you” note to each of your guests. I always think it’s a wonderful thing when you tell someone what a blessing they are and this is a great time of year to do so in a special way.

You could also keep the notes blank for your guests to take home and write their blessings down. Add tags with names to the boxes to make them into place holders.

The boxes are made with the Stampin’ Up! Matchbox Die for the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine and are decorated with the Gifts of the Earth and the Autumn Days stamp sets. The worded image is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set and the Designer Series Paper is Autumn Traditions.

I wanted the stamped image with the pumpkin (top box) to look aged so I stamped it with Really Rust Ink on Whisper White card stock. Then I inked up my Brayer with Creamy Caramel Ink and rolled over the stamped image and sponged the edges. I put faux stitching along the edges of that one.

Have a great day,
