You will need to update your bookmarks and re-sign up for the feed over at my new place.

I have several new projects that I have set to post there so I can’t wait to share those with you. Come on over and check it out!

I felt it was time to step away from Stampin’ Up! and I gave my resignation at the end of May. All of my former SU customers are being referred to my daughter, Kayla, who is a demonstrator.

Hello Creative Friends,
Popping this up quickly this morning before I get going. I did the color challenge over at Stamp TV this week. Took me all week to decide what to do for it. The challenge was pastels which I rarely do on a whole card. It was indeed a challenge for me! I used the tulip, stem, and leaf from A Year of Flowers stamp set from Gina K. Designs.

Main Supplies Used: Gina K. Designs A Year of Flowers Stamp Set, Heidi Grace Sweet Whimsey Paper, Stampin’ Up! Naturals White Card Stock, Stampin’ Up Lavender Lace Ink (outline), Certainly Celery Ink, English Lavender Memory Writer Marker (tulip fill), Nestabilities Labels 9 Die-Cut, Martha Stewart Cornice Lace Border Punch and Corner Punch, Gingham Ribbon, Buttons.

I got some buttons from the dollar bin at Michaels the other day. They had them in five colors and the buttons were in such adorable little containers. I thought a few of them went so nicely with my card. I love deals you know!

Have a great Lord’s Day!

Hello Creative Friends,
Today I’m sharing the last two of my cards I did for the Verve Stamp Challenge. One’s a bible verse and the other a coffee themed card. Goes together doesn’t it? The bible with a cup of coffee in hand?

Main Supplies: Verve Hebrews 11:1 Stamp, October Afternoon Thrift ShopPaper, Papertrey True Black Card Stock, Stampin’ Up! Very VanillaCard Stock & Classic Ink, Tim Holtz Antique Linen Distress (edges), Martha Stewart Daisy Border Punch, Nestabilities Labels 9 Die-cut, Grosgrain Ribbon, Pearls.

I put a cream layer of card-stock behind the black on the above card with a tiny edge showing under the stamped image and layered it all with foam mounts.

Main Supplies: Verve Delightful & Delicious Stamp Set, DCWV Crafty StackPaper, Papertrey Terracotta Tile Card Stock, Stampin’ Up! Not Quite Navy & Very VanillaCard Stock, Stampin’ Up! Classic Ink, Tim Holtz Antique Linen Distress (edges), Brad, Half Pearl, Ribbon, Scallop Circle Punch.

The flower is made with some layers of the Scallop Circle Punch cut-outs. You just cut in a little with scissors every other scallop indent. Make as many flower layers as you want. This one has 4 layers. Use a paper piercer to make a hole in the center and insert a brad to hold it together. Then scrunch up the sides. The brad in the center of this flower is a large one I had. I then added the large pearl to it with glue dots.

Hello Creative Friends,
I’ve been working on some cards to enter into a challenge using Verve stamps. I really enjoyed sitting down and working on them. I love their bible verse stamps. Last time I wanted to do one of their challenges, I started and got sick and couldn’t finish. I was so excited to finish all my cards. I used October Afternoon Thrift Shop paper on the first two. That’s my favorite paper right now.

Main Supplies: Verve Delightful & Delicious Stamp Set, Papertrey Aqua Mist & Pure Poppy Card Stock, Stampin’ Up! Classic Inks & Very Vanilla Card Stock, October Afternoon Thrift Shop Paper, Tim Holtz Antique Linen Distress Ink), Dotted Texturz Plates, Embossing Powder, Nestabilities Labels 9.

I stamped the coffee cup right on the designer paper and embossed it with black embossing powder. I was so pleased with how it turned out.

Main Supplies: Verve Psalm 84:11 Stamp, Stampin’ Up! Classic Inks & Card Stock, October Afternoon Thrift Shop Paper, Embossing Powder, Extra Large Fancy Flower & 5 Petal Punches for flower.

On this second one, I embossed some Iridescent Ice embossing powder on the top part of the word “SUN”. It’s kind of hard to see (no matter how many pictures I took of it!) but you can click on the close-up and see it a little better.

Main Supplies: Verve Joshua 24:15 Stamp, Stampin’ Up! Classic Inks & Card Stock, DWWV Crafty Stack Paper, Photo Corner Punch, brads.

I layered this one up a little bit with foam mounts. One of my favorite verses!

I had to do a couple more for this challenge. I’ll share those with you tomorrow!

I made this card back when I was playing with my Strawberry stamp set from Flourishes but I don’t think I shared this one yet. I used some distress ink to go around everything and give it a little aged feel.

Someone asked me about this gingham ribbon when I made my other strawberry card. It’s just the measure by the yard in the Walmart fabric section.

I put my Provisions devotional back up on the website today.

For those who’ve been asking about my graphics, I haven’t had any time to work on getting them back up. I did put up some of the download links for some of the free graphics. They are great little inspirational sayings and bible verses that you can put on your blog sidebar or website to witness with. Find the download links on my main page here.

Hello Creative Friends,
Today’s share is a card I made for a sketch challenge over at Stamp TV. The sketch required three ovals. I used one of the flower stamps from Gina K’s A Year of Flowers Stamp Set. That set has so many flowers in it I actually could use it all year long!

I started with a black card stock base and used some yellow and black design paper from the October Afternoon Thrift Shop pad and layered in some borders that I made with the Martha Stewart Cornice border punch. I used some distress ink on the edges of everything.

Not sure how well it shows, but I used foam mounts to layer on the oval pieces for dimension.

Here’s the inside of the card. A lot of times I leave off the sentiments so I can use it for whatever occasion that I need a card for.

Hello Creative Friends,
I’m sharing a card I made this week for a color challenge over at Stamp TV. The challenge was using purple and green and one light and one dark neutral color. I used one of my new Gina K stamps, AYear of Flowers for this, choosing the larger flower in the set and the “for you” sentiment.

I embossed the image first. Then lightly used my water pen (Aqua Painter) and some shades of purple inks. I then went back in with a purple ink marker and filled in a few darker spots. Added some fine glitter to the middle and edges of the flower.

Main Supplies Used: Gina K. A Year of Flowers Stamp Set, October Afternoon Thrift Shop Designer Paper, Papertrey Vintage Cream, Ripe Avocado, and Plum Pudding Card Stock, Martha Stewart Daisy Punch, Tim Holtz Idea-ology Fragments.

Above is a close-up for you and you can see the glitter a little better. You can see the Tim Holtz Fragment a little better too (the little acrylic tile) I got a package of those with all kinds of shapes in it with a coupon awhile ago and had no idea what I was going to do with them but I’m finding I love hanging them off of cards.

I’m not sure how noticeable it is in the photos, but I used thick foam mounts for the overhang layer and to attach the flower to give it some dimension.

To make this style card to fit an A-2 envelope, make your card base 5 1/2 inches x 6 inches and fold to 5 1/2 x 3 inches. You really can make your overhang base any size as long as you don’t let it overhang more than 1 and 1/4 inches so your card will still fit inside your envelope. My bottom layer for the overhang is a 3 x 3. When I am piecing this style, I lay it down on grid paper so that I place my overhang piece within the size I need.

Hope you are enjoying your summer!

Have a creative day,

Hello Creative Friends,
Sharing a card today that I did with one of my new stamp sets. I had bought this paper pad awhile ago at the fabric store. The paper pad is full of crafty theme paper and these rich colors which I love. I’ve been trying to find some projects to use it on and I thought the sewing machine stamp was perfect for it.

Main Supplies Used: Stampin’ Up! Puns From the Past Stamp Set, Papertrey Terracotta Tile and Vintage Cream Card Stock, DCWV the Crafty Stack paper, Stampin’ Up! Classic Black Ink, Tim Holtz Antique Linen Distress Ink.

Had to put a few buttons on the inside of the card too.

I love to sew but don’t do it much. My daughter (my 12 year old) really wanted to learn so I tried to teach her a few basics not too long ago. I’m terrible about starting sewing projects and not finishing them. Like starting clothes for my kids and having them outgrow whatever it is before I ever finish it! I think that’s why I like making cards so much. They don’t take a lot of time and I actually complete them.

Have a creative day,

Hello Creative Friends,
The fruit stands around here are loaded down with sweet strawberries! Had to break out one of my new strawberry stamp sets for summer.

Stamps & Main Supplies: Flourishes Strawberries Stamp Set, Heidi Grace Sweet Whimsey Paper, Stampin’ Up! Real Red and Whisper White Card Stock, Martha Stewart Scroll Lace Punch Around the Page and Corner Punches.

I did a little layering with foam mounts and the pieces I made from my punches. I’m finding layering is my favorite way to use the combination of border/edge and corner punches. I also love them for the inside of cards.

Added a little strawberry from the stamp set to finish off the inside of the card.

Have a creative day,

Hello Creative Friends,
Today’s share is a card I made for a color challenge over at Stamp TV. Colors were chocolate, green, and ivory. I think this is such a soothing color combo, don’t you? I wanted to make it a little vintage looking so I added some pearls, tied some ribbons and crochet trim onto a jumbo size safety pin, and used distress ink on parts of the card. I love the saying!
