Punch Art Turkey Tent Card

Hello Creative Friends,
Today I’m sharing another punch art project.  This one is a turkey which I’ve placed on a tent card.

Tent cards are easy to make and are fun for dressing up tables and you can add candy bags inside of them to make a take home favor.    Just cut your card stock to 11 1/2 x 3 1/2  measurements, scoring at 1 1/2, then 5 1/2, and 9 1/2.  Fold at the score lines and overlap the bottom folds and adhere with Sticky Strip.

Stampin’ Up! Punches Used:
Scallop Circle Punch  (Underbelly and Wings)
Scallop Oval Punch  (Feathers)
1 3/4 Inch Circle Punch (Belly)
Small Oval Punch   (Head)
Three Heart Punch   (Heart for Waddle)
Five Petal Punch   (Tip for Beak)
Flower Trio   ( Feet)

I did sponge around the edges with Creamy Caramel ink on all the pieces just to give it some definition.  The eyes are dotted on with a black ink marker.  I placed the feathers on the back of the tent card and the body on the front.

You can see by the side view that I placed in a cello bag of candy corn.  The wording is from the Gifts of the Earth stamp set from the Holiday Mini Catalog and all of the punches used are found on pages 186-187 of the current Idea Book & Catalog.

Breast Cancer Awareness Favors

Hello Creative Friends,
If you haven’t checked out the new Holiday Mini Catalog yet, there are some fun products, one being the Sweet Treat Cups (Item #116802).  I’ve used one on today’s share.

breast cancer awareness favor

This little favor is made with a 3 x 9 piece of card stock, scored at 3 and 6 inches and folded in and then out.   Next I placed 1 3/4 inch holes with my circle punch into the first two segments, placing the Sweet Treat Cup through the top hole.

The Sweet Treat Cups have adhesive on them but I didn’t peel off the protection and use the adhesive because I wanted to place a bookmark inside my favor and make a sliding door instead.  I used sticky strip on the two edges of the card stock (on the segment where the Sweet Treat Cup was positioned through, adhering it to the second card stock segment with the other punched hole.

This gave me an opening in the top which I slid my bookmark through.  When slid out, it allows the candy to escape.

The simple bookmark is made with the Ribbon of Hope stamp, one of the $10 and under stamps from Stampin’ Up!  I just made the saying on my computer.  I made sure the bookmark was flat with no dimension so it would slide easily.

The “clock” is just thin strips of card stock for the hands with a half-back pearl adhered with a glue dot on the Sweet Treat Cup.

Be sure to check out the other pink products from Stampin’ Up! for all of your Breast Cancer Awareness projects.

Snack Size Hershey’s Candy Bar Sliders

Scroll down for yesterday’s Blog Candy post!

Herhey's Bar Candy SlidersGood Morning Creative Friends!

I love candy bar sliders and they are really great but when you need to make a bunch of them, especially for a large banquet, retreat,  or even when you need to send in 30 for your kid’s class they can become an expensive project.

I decided to scale down the candy bar slider for a small snack-pack size Hershey’s bar (the .49 oz bars that you get 8 in a pack).  They are usually just over 1.00 for a pack.  A lot better on your budget.

Here’s what you will need.

Cardstock
Hershey’s Snack size candy bar (.49 oz.)
Sticky Strip
Ribbon (approximately 20 inches)
Stamps/Embellishments
Hole Punch
Crimper

Cut your cardstock to 4 inches x 4 1/2 inches.
Score at 1 3/4  inches in and then at 3 1/2 inches in.

Score linesI found a tutorial for the regular size ones that is done like I make them, so instead of reinventing the wheel, I’m sharing the link I found with you of a tutorial of how these sliders are made.  This tutorial is for the regular 1.55 oz Hershey’s bars but if you need pictures to see how something is made, it will be a good source for you for the basics of this project.  If you want to make the mini ones like mine, then just use my measurements for the cardstock and scoring.  I also crimped the ends of mine.

Candy Bar SlidersI embellished the brown one I made with one of the stamps from the Crazy For Cupcakes set.  The pink one with a heart stamp from the  You & Moi  and if you want to learn to make the flowers like on the green one, see the post on Peppermint Patti Flowers.  I, of course just used the top of that type of flower to put on the slider.

Hope you enjoyed these.  They are a really fun project to make and they go pretty quick and aren’t time consuming at all.  I also like this project because it’s so versatile and you can do them for any occasion.

Have a creative day,
Juila
